My Security Door steel and hybrid security doors are highly corrosion resistant due to dual protection layer of zinc coating and powder coating. However airborne impurities and salt in extreme environments can affect the protection layer. To keep your products performing at their best, correct care is essential. Please follow our specific cleaning advice to ensure your product warranty is not voided.
How should I clean my security door?
Getting rid of dust, dirt and grime through regular maintenance is essential.
– Clean frames and mesh with car wash and wax (or a regular car wash and wax)
– Use warm water and a soft non-abrasive brush (eg, a banister brush)
– Wipe down with clean water
Never use strong solvent-based or abrasive cleaners; they can damage powder-coated surfaces.
For stubborn marks use Crimsafe stain clean. Crimsafe cleaning products are available from the Crimsafe shop.
How often should I clean my security door?
The frequency in which you need to clean your security door depends on your environment and location. Below we provide some guidelines to help you.
If you live more than 10 km from a beachfront or sheltered bay, you are classed as living in a mild environment and you should clean once every 4 weeks
If you live within 1 km to 10 km of beachfront or sheltered bay, you are classed as living in a moderate environment and you should clean once every 3 weeks
If you live within 500m to 1km of beachfront or within 100m to 1km of sheltered bay, you are classed as living in a marine environment and you should clean once every 2 weeks
If you live within 500m of beachfront or within 100m of sheltered bay, you are classed as living in a severe marine environment and you should clean once a week.
Definitions and Notes: 1. Beachfront refers to breaking surf causing airborne moisture 2. Sheltered bay refers to calm salt waters not experiencing surf conditions, including rivers 3. Fresh water lakes are not considered high risk areas 4. Some installations may require extra maintenance due to local environmental conditions.

Crimsafe Regular, Classic and Ultimate products all come with a standard 10-Year Warranty. You can register to increase the warranty on Crimsafe Regular or Crimsafe Classic products to 12-years, or on Crimsafe Ultimate products to 15 years, by registering on the Crimsafe website within 60 days of purchase.
